This is Sterling Houston, a significant American dramatic poet, who died of AIDS in San Antonio, November 8, 2006 at age sixty. Sterling Houston and Steve Bailey founded Jump-Start Theater in the Blue Star Arts Complex which survives and thrives today, a center for Texas avant-garde Performance Art.

Near the Tower of the Americas in one of the narrow canals this artist placed photos that were illuminated from underneath and placed each photo in the center of a tire. The tires were secured together forming a floating altar.
